First Strawberries

First Strawberries: A Cherokee Story

Man comes home and women was planting flowers.  Dinner had not been made and he was mad at her, so she left.  She walked west, but the husband couldn't catch up with her.  The sun was watching, and the man was very sorry, and the sun said it would help him.  The sun shone and strawberries grew and the women stopped and plucked some of the berries.  The strawberries reminded her of her happiness with her husband and she wanted to pick them for him.  He finally caught up to her.  cherokee eat strawberries and think to be nice/kind to each other and the importance of friendship and respect.
